En 1994, elle remporte le prix Leonid Kreutzer. En 1995, elle poursuit ses \u00e9tudes avec Werner Genuit et Kaya Han \u00e0 la Musikhochschule de Karlsruhe, o\u00f9 elle obtient son dipl\u00f4me de soliste avec une mention sp\u00e9ciale. Elle se perfectionne ensuite \u00e0 la fois dans le r\u00e9pertoire classique-romantique et la musique contemporaine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd&rsquo;hui pianiste soliste et chambriste, elle interpr\u00e8te avec la m\u00eame aisance les chefs d&rsquo;oeuvres du r\u00e9pertoire classique et ceux du r\u00e9pertoire contemporain. Le Carnegie Hall, le Lincoln Center \u00e0 New-York, le Musikverein de Vienne, le Barbican Centre de Londres, la Cit\u00e9 de la musique et la Philharmonie de Paris, le Suntory Hall, mais aussi les festivals de Salzbourg, Ars Electronica ou encore Berlin et Ruhr&#8230; on ne compte plus les salles prestigieuses dans lesquelles elle s&rsquo;est produite. Elle collabore par ailleurs fr\u00e9quemment avec les grandes radios europ\u00e9ennes et am\u00e9ricaines, et a \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9e comme soliste par de grands orchestres tels que le Royal Concertgebouw d&rsquo;Amsterdam, les Philharmoniques de Munich et Dresde, le Seattle Symphony ou encore l&rsquo;American Composers Orchestra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 2013, Maki Namekawa interpr\u00e8te la premi\u00e8re mondiale de l&rsquo;int\u00e9grale des <em>20 Etudes <\/em>pour piano solo de Philip Glass au Festival international de Perth. Elles les jouera ensuite \u00e0 travers le monde, de l&rsquo;Am\u00e9rique \u00e0 l&rsquo;Asie en passant par l&rsquo;Europe. L&rsquo;Enregistrement de ce cycle (Orange Mountain Music, 2014) se hisse en t\u00eate des classements iTunes Classical et re\u00e7oit les \u00e9loges de la presse sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e, notamment de la BBC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Son enregistrement de la version pour piano de la musique du film <em>Mishima \u2013 A Life in Four Chapters<\/em>, \u00e9crite par Philip Glass et sp\u00e9cialement arrang\u00e9e pour elle par Michael Riesman, directeur musical de longue date du compositeur, a re\u00e7u le prestigieux Pasticcio Prize d\u00e9cern\u00e9 par l\u2019ORF, la radio nationale autrichienne. Elle recevra de nouveau cette distinction en 2019 pour l&rsquo;album <em>Isang Yun <\/em>| <em><em>Sunrise Falling<\/em>.<\/em> Philip Glass lui d\u00e9die \u00e9galement sa toute premi\u00e8re <em>Sonate pour piano<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depuis 2003, Maki Namekawa forme un duo avec son mari le chef d&rsquo;orchestre Dennis Russel Davies. Ensemble, ils se produisent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement en Europe et en Europe et en Am\u00e9rique du Nord. &nbsp;Parmi les \u0153uvres majeures \u00e9crites pour leur duo, on peut citer&nbsp;<em>Four Movements for Two Pianos<\/em>&nbsp;de Philip Glass, <em>China West Suite<\/em>&nbsp;de Chen Yi et <em>Two Movements for Four Pianos<\/em>&nbsp;de Glass (avec Katia et Marielle Lab\u00e8que).
